Accepting Cookies to Help Provide the Best Possible Service

By accepting cookies, we can continue to offer you the best possible service. Suzuki Marine GB is proud to provide a broad catalog of outboard engines suitable for virtually any watercraft. Our engines range in power output from 2.5 to 350 horsepower, making them ideal for commercial vessels and leisure craft alike. We have a technical edge over our competitors, which makes our engines cleaner and greener, thanks to patented Lean Burn technology specifically designed to optimize fuel usage and reduce fuel consumption.

Suzuki Marine GB’s Advanced Engines

Suzuki Marine GB’s outboard engines are designed to be used exclusively on watercraft, unlike other engine companies, which use automotive engines turned on their sides. Since we design our engines solely for watercraft, we are able to develop advanced features unique to our engines, such as Lean Burn technology, which reduces fuel consumption by adjusting the fuel/air mix to achieve efficient fuel consumption.

Suzuki Marine GB’s Range of Third-Generation Four-Stroke Engines

We no longer offer two-stroke models in Europe. The latest additions include the DF115 BG and DF140 BG, which use a fly-by-wire control system. These engines are the first to feature a microplastic collection device as standard, which is part of the Clean Ocean Project, an initiative we’ve been running for about 15 years. Our engines with outputs ranging from 150-to another 300-horsepower model come with Selective Rotation, which avoids the need for right and left-hand units for a twin-engine boat by incorporating adaptable features.

Suzuki Marine GB’s Innovative Engine Design

Suzuki Marine GB has a different approach to standard outboard engine design. We move the engine block forward and fit in a gear mechanism that supports an off-set driveshaft, which has an advantage over a full unit hung off the stern of a boat. This design allows us to offer larger engines that help to reduce the lever effect and increase overall balance. We’ve also developed a dual propshaft setup for our 300, 325, and 350 V6 GEKI series engines, which helps in reducing the transverse thrust of a single large prop, increasing power delivery, getting the hull ‘on the plane,’ and reducing the time the boat has its full hull in the water.

Maintenance and Durability

Our marine engines can operate for about 100 hours before needing a service. Suzuki’s engineering prowess helps to extend the life of our engines, with some units delivering upwards of 20,000 hours of service, which is quite spectacular. Maintenance is key to ensuring the longevity of our engines, in what can be a harsh environment.

Petrol/Electric Hybrid Engines

Suzuki does not have any plans for a petrol/electric hybrid engine because of the need for a lot of power to get through the water. Having dependable technology is critical to customer safety, so it’s unlikely we’ll look to these types of complicated solutions.

The Latest Suzuki Marine Engine to be Launched

The latest marine engine to be launched by Suzuki is the DF250 KURO. It is a 4.0-litre 24 V V6 DF250AUNX, featuring new electronic mapping, which has allowed peak engine speed to be increased from 5700 to 6000 rpm. Other notable features include reworked air intake louvres, a redesigned lower unit to improve cruising performance and reduce cavitation, and upper clamp brackets that use stiffer bushings to increase stability at speed.
